Troubleshooting:
- Check that the Controller COM objects are registered in the Registry Editor: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mercury Interactive\LoadRunner\CurrentVersion.
- If they are not registered, run register_controller.bat from the <LoadRunner installation>\bin directory to register the COM objects.
- If this fails to solve the problem, contact customer support and provide them with an explanation of the problem, and the error message returned.

MI Listener name: The name, full name, or IP address of the MI Listener.
Local Machine Key: A symbolic string identifier used to establish a unique connection between the Controller host and the agent machine, via the MI Listener machine. The following applies to Performance Center only:
- When configuring to monitor over a firewall, you can enter any logical name, using lowercase letters only.
- When configuring to run Vusers over a firewall, you must use the format hostname_locationname. hostname is the name of the host as found on the Hosts page of the Administration Site. locationname is the name of the host location as found on the Host Location page of the Administration Site.

You can connect or disconnect Analysis from a Performance Center project at any time during an Analysis session.
The connection process has two stages. First, you connect Analysis to a local or remote Performance Center Web server. This server handles the connections between Analysis and the Performance Center project. You connect to Performance Center from the Configure Performance Center Connection dialog box.

VuGen provides a wizard that guides you through the procedure of importing data from a database. In the wizard, you specify how to import the data—create a new query via an MS Query or by specifying an SQL statement. After you import the data, it is saved as a file with a .dat extension and stored as a regular parameter file.
